I’m back doing Top 5 Wednesday posts! In honour of April fool’s day, today is all about favourite jokesters, pranksters and overall funny characters.
It’s so hard to create character that can make you laugh out loud, but some amazing authors have done a tremendous job on getting some very funny characters out there.
So here are my top 5 favourite funny characters, the ones that I wish they were real, so I could hang out with them and laugh until my I have abs in my belly!
Lee Jordan, Fred and George Weasley from the Harry Potter Series by JK Rowling
Okay, technically this is a three in one here, but how can you pick up just one from this funny trio? Yes, Fred and George were the prank masters, but who didn’t laugh form Lee Jordan’s commentary during Quidditch games? This three are such funny characters that will forever be stuck with me, as the whole series is.
Emma Nash from Editing Emma by Chloe Seager
I read this amazing book last year when it came out, and I instantly fell in love with Emma. This book is not only brilliant but I couldn’t stop laughing at how real Emma is. If you love contemporary YA, make sure to read this brilliant book. Also sequel coming out in July! Can’t wait to get back into Emma Nash’s world. (You can check my review of this amazing book here.)
Izzy O’Neill from The Exact Opposite of Okay by Laura Steven
Izzy O’Neill will have you laughing out loud from the moment you read that first page, and you won’t stop! I absolutely adore all these amazing female characters coming out of contemporary YA. They’re so realistic funny and so relatable. Also this book its an amazing feminist read, so if you still have one thing or two to learn on the subject, make sure to pick this one up.
Simon Lewis from The Mortal Instruments Series by Cassandra Clare
I’m not a big fan of Cassandra Clare, I read the first three books so many times but I can’t get past the fourth because gets so dull and boring. However, Simon always cracked me up. I actually looked forward to his parts in the books because he is such an enjoyable funny character. So even though the books are not my favourite, Simon deserves to be mentioned.
Kitty Song from To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han
I found this book quite enjoyable, but what really did it for me was Lara Jean’s younger sister Kitty. The kid is amazingly funny and I so wanted a young sister like her! She was a breath of fresh air in between all the romance and drama. Can’t wait to see how she comes across in the film coming out in at some point this year. (Looks like Netflix bought the film rights back in March) I just hope they don’t mess her character up.
That’s all for today my lovelies!
Do you think I got some good funny characters on my Top 5? Who is your favourite jokester? Share your thoughts with me in the comment section.
Happy Readings!
