Blog Tour: Whiteout by Gabriel Dylan – Review

Synopsis from Goodreads

Charlie hopes that the school ski trip will be the escape from his unhappy home life he so desperately needs. But there is something wrong with the remote ski village of Kaldgellan.

Something is out there, something ancient and evil, among the pines and the deep untracked drifts, watching and waiting. And when the storms blow in, Charlie and his schoolmates wake to find the resort deserted.

Cut off from the rest of the world far below, as night falls the few left alive on the snowbound mountain will wish they were somewhere, anywhere else.

Only ski guide Hanna seems to know of Kaldgellan’s long-buried secrets, but whether Charlie can trust her is another question…

Review

Gosh I don’t even know where to start…VAMPIRES ARE BACK! YAAAAAS!

Apologies for my excitement, but I absolutely love vampires and Whiteout by Gabriel Dylan is exactly what I have been waiting for. As soon as I got my hands on this book I devoured it in an instant, that’s how good it was.

As much as I love sparkly vampires and journal writer vampires who fall in love with humans, nothing beats blood lust vampires who only see red!

Initially, I was worried that the different points of view from different characters will put me off a bit, but the more I read the more I realised that with all that goes on is a perfect way to tell the story.

Especially because it still gives you a clear idea of who the main characters. Charlie and Hannah, which I really loved and Tara who you would love to hate. Or would love to have died like 3 seconds into the book #NotEvenSorry

This is my second book from Stripes Red Eye series and once again I’m not disappointed. It’s quite nice to be able to read a terrifying gory YA book and Whiteout delivers it from the moment people go missing and all the way to the end.

But there is much more than gory and blood going on. There is a bit of romance and, as most YA books, there is also teens dealing with a terrifying situation probably better than most adults! Not all of them, but there is always some good smart eggs and Whiteout has Charlie and Hannah.

Whiteout by Gabriel Dylan is a brilliant bloodsucking gory debut and if you love vampires as much as me, then this book is what you need in your life right now!

Rating: 🍍🍍🍍🍍.5
